About

Audible Worship is the birthing of an idea that I have been sitting on for a while. A church audio resource dealing with more than just the equipment, more than just the science. But a resource that helps with the ministry of audio’s place in worship. I want Audible Worship to be much more than just me bragging about my accomplishments, or wallowing in my failures, but an open dialog about where a top level audio experience belongs in a worship service. About how churches have been settling for mediocrity as acceptable for way too long.

I’ve been mixing in churches of all sizes for 8 years. From my home church which sat 150 people, to the mega-churches of 2,000 people plus worship centers. I’ve done this successfully, by know what the vision of the worship team is, and helping create an experience that will hopefully allow at least 1 person to experience God.

I am currently Audio Engineer and Production Manager at Gardendale First Baptist Church in Gardendale, Alabama, where I am responsible for all things audio. In addition to remixing the Television Broadcast each week, I am responsible for ensuring that our audio equipment and crews are ready and able to serve our Lord at all times. Before coming to Gardendale, I was on staff at Sugar Creek Baptist Church in Sugar Land, Texas where I served as an Associate to the Technical Director. Prior to Sugar Creek I was a volunteer staff at several churches including The Met in Northwest Houston, Texas where I mixed FOH audio and directed a little IMAG from time to time.

**Important: Even though John is currently on staff at Gardendale First Baptist Church the views expressed here are his, and may not be the churches. They should however line up more often than not.**
